J. Bryon Test was born in Guymon, Oklahoma. He grew up in the wide-open space of the prairie following his dad through the stubble fields and brush to hunt pheasant and quail, over the dams of the scarce ponds to hunt duck and geese. What developed from these excursions and the guiding faith of his mother; was a deep appreciation of the landscape and wildlife which surrounded him. He began at a young age to recreate the images of wildlife and the prairie with paper and watercolor paint.
Jan Black, grew up in the harsh landscape of Southwest Kansas, learning at a young
age to create beauty for herself and others. Her passion for painting was ignited in primary school by the influence of her teacher where Jan was taught. Award winning artist, Jan Black was taught by famous artists Elaine de Kooning oil painter and Louise Nevelson sculptor. Jan Black’s colorful works can be found in over 400 private and commercial collections in Southwest United States.
Ben Test is a native of Guymon, Oklahoma. He is a 1980 graduate of Guymon High School. Ben attended Southwestern State University where he earned a Bachelor of Art degree in Commercial Art. Ben always liked art. His younger years were spent doing 2-D work. His favorite medium was transparency with color and acrylic. In 1997 he was offered a position at Guymon High School teaching art. Ben’s Pottery is hand built and wheel toned and he does a variety of beautiful pieces.
